\Job Description\

We are seeking a skilled Speech Pathologist to join our team in Cairns. As a Speech Pathologist, you will be responsible for delivering assessments, interventions and supporting individuals with communication difficulties.

  • Demonstrated high level knowledge and skills in contemporary clinical practice standards in rural and remote speech pathology.
  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to work sensitively and effectively with First Nations communities and their leaders, respecting traditional culture, values and ways of doing business.
  • Demonstrated experience or willingness to participate in the delivery of care through innovative service models, in particular virtual health and a supervision and delegation model.
  • Demonstrated ability to determine priorities and manage caseload to meet agreed timelines and objectives, establish trust and rapport with clients and key stakeholders with particular emphasis on interpersonal communication skills, maintaining confidentiality and effective clinical documentation and reporting.

You will have the opportunity to work in a hybrid model, which means you will have a mix of face-to-face and remote work. This will allow you to balance your work and personal life while still delivering high-quality care to our clients.

\Required Skills and Qualifications\

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

\
  • Tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Speech Pathology.
  • Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist (CPSP) with 3 years or more experience.
  • Membership of Speech Pathology Australia (SPA).
  • Current Blue Card (Working with Children and young people) or willingness to apply for a Blue Card.
  • NDIS Worker Screening – Yellow Card.
  • Satisfactory National Police Certificate.
  • Current Drivers Licence (Qld 'C' class licence).
