About The Role The role and responsibilities of the Speech Language Pathologist will be to provide therapy services to students in schools and develop capacity within schools in meeting the needs of diverse learners.
This involves working within a consultative framework including students, parents, teachers, learning support teachers, therapists, administration and external agencies.
This role is aimed at strengthening the individual skills of students to access the curriculum as well as support and train teaching staff in program implementation and management.
The Speech Language Pathologist will work cooperatively with the Engagement Wellbeing & Learning Team, Principals and school staff to facilitate a holistic approach to learning for all students in our schools.
Frequent and regular school visits are a key component of this role.
Work Requirements Formal qualifications in Speech Pathology at Degree level Eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia Demonstrated ability to select and apply current methodologies in the provision of speech language pathology services in an educational setting Demonstrated skills in diagnostic assessment and the implementation of programs and associated strategies to support the needs of students Demonstrated communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills necessary for good working relationships Demonstrated ability to operate in teams and develop professional networks Demonstrated capacity to provide professional learning opportunities for staff development that improve teaching and learning experiences of students Evidence of a current Working with Children Blue Card Possession of a current/valid Queensland Driver's Licence Eligibility to work within Australia for the period of this appointment A strong demonstrated commitment to the objectives, vision and ethos of Catholic Education Promote child safety at all times What we offer Competitive Salary range $100,600- $159,917 per annum pending experience 12.75% employer superannuation contribution Annual Leave with 17.5% leave loading Access to salary packaging options to maximise your salary Access to long service leave after 7 years of continuous service (portability of Long Service Leave may also be applicable)14 Weeks' paid parental leave Fitness passport membership available Professional development and Early Career Teacher Support Access to Employee Assistance Program To Apply Applications must include a resume and cover letter (not more than 2 pages) addressing the essential duties and responsibilities, as outlined in the position description.
