Leadership Role in HR Operations

Cuscal seeks an experienced leader to design, deliver and continuously improve core HR services and systems across the employee lifecycle.

This is a key leadership opportunity for someone passionate about driving business outcomes through effective people management practices.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR operations, shared services or HR service delivery, with a proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Service Delivery:
    • Oversee end-to-end HR services including onboarding, offboarding contract management and employee records
    • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of P&C services with a focus on employee experience and service excellence
    • Establish and track KPIs for service performance and drive automation and continuous improvement
  • People Systems and Data Governance:
    • Manage and optimise HRIS platforms
    • Champion digitalisation and automation in HR operations
    • Owning the management and maintenance of employee records
  • Workforce Planning:
    • Owning the budgeting, tracking and forecasting of the overall workforce, in close partnership with Finance and the business
  • Policy Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Ensure policy compliance with relevant legislation and regulation
    • Develop and own the Work Health & Safety strategy, processes and practices
    • Manage employee agreement templates and ensure effective document retention
    • Support workforce compliance requirements including visa background checks and other regulatory requirements
  • Facilities & Team Administration:
    • Oversee the management of the physical work environment, including compliance with Work Health and Safety requirements
    • Ensure the ongoing maintenance of equipment and services
    • Oversee Team Administration (including invoicing)
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in business or human resources (or equivalent experience)
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in HR, with a strong focus on HR operations, shared services, or HR service delivery
  • Proven experience managing core HR processes such as onboarding, offboarding, employee lifecycle management, benefits administration, and compliance
  • Demonstrated ability to streamline and improve HR operational workflows and service delivery models
  • Experience leading and developing HR teams, including HR coordinators, administrators, and specialists
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across departments
  • Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms ideally Workday or similar (SuccessFactors, SAP, Oracle), including system implementation or optimisation
  • Strong understanding of data integrity, reporting, and analytics within HR systems
  • Deep knowledge of employment legislation, privacy laws, and HR compliance requirements in Australia
  • Demonstrated experience in managing Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) programs, including incident reporting, compliance, and coordination of Workers Compensation claims and return-to-work processes
