About the role

The Director of Business Growth will enhance our strategic position within the Australian and international markets by executing effective business development strategies and achieving growth targets.

This role will lead a team dedicated to promoting us as a supplier of choice within the Defence Industry, taking on responsibilities including:

  • Developing and implementing comprehensive business development strategies, pipelines and partnerships with Defence clients and primes
  • Building a cohesive strategy across the Defence Industry sector to position our products, services and solutions for growth
  • Contributing to revenue growth by identifying and securing opportunities to expand our reach within client segments
  • Leading capture campaigns, with focus on programs such as AUKUS & GWEO
  • Positioning us as a Defence supplier of choice with a focus on national markets with a view to growing into international markets
  • Establishing, developing and maintaining best practice business development and governance processes
  • Leading a team dedicated to client segments, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence
  • Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with customers to identify new business opportunities, proactively communicating and resolving program issues, and providing strategic direction to program teams
About you

  • A proven leader who has pursued and won complex bids with the ADF and Defence Primes – ideally with experience in test and evaluation services and products. Experience in mission systems / sustainment is desirable
  • A strong connection within relevant program offices with the ADF and Defence primes accounts
  • Commercial acumen with proven ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies with a track record of exceeding revenue targets
  • Exhibits a strategic and high achiever mindset, adept at proactively identifying and converting high-value opportunities into sustainable new business revenue
  • Deep understanding of the Australian Defence procurement environment and Defence tendering processes
  • Experience leading, developing and preparing responses to Commonwealth approaches to market, up to ASDEFCON level of complexity
  • Sound understanding of government business development, contract structures, and proposal processes
  • Due to a requirement to be eligible for a NV1 security clearance, Australian Citizenship is required
