About the Role

Aptella is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to join their team in Coffs Harbour. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining machine control systems, with a focus on 2D and 3D automation and machine payload weighing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and Commissioning: Onsite and workshop-based installations of machine control systems and equipment.
  • Calibration and Troubleshooting: Calibration and commissioning of machine systems and attachments, as well as troubleshooting and problem-solving technical support.
  • Servicing and Maintenance: Servicing and maintaining equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Customer Training: Providing training to customers on the use and maintenance of machine control systems.
Requirements
  • Trade Qualification: Trade-qualified Auto Electrician, Heavy Diesel Mechanic, or Light Vehicle experience is highly regarded.
  • Communication and Organisational Skills: Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential for this role.
  • Mechanical Aptitude and Fabrication Skills: Mechanical aptitude and fabrication skills are necessary for the installation and maintenance of machine control systems.
  • Electrical and Hydraulic Systems Knowledge: Understanding of electrical and hydraulic systems is required for this role.
  • Customer Relationship Building: Ability to build and manage customer relationships and expectations.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail is necessary for this role.
  • Goal-Oriented and Performance-Driven: Goal-oriented, outcome-focused, and performance-driven individual.
  • Computer Skills: Sound computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Office applications.
  • Professionalism and Positive Attitude: Display a high degree of professionalism and positive attitude.
  • Autonomy and Troubleshooting Skills: Ability to work autonomously and excellent troubleshooting and diagnostics skills.
  • Practical and Technical Experience: Strong practical and technical experience is required for this role.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Heavy Equipment Mechanical Repairs/Maintenance Experience: Experience with heavy equipment mechanical repairs and maintenance.
  • Heavy Equipment Auto Electrical Repairs/Maintenance Experience: Experience with heavy equipment auto electrical repairs and maintenance.
  • Mobile Plant Hydraulic Systems Experience: Experience with mobile plant hydraulic systems.
  • Machine Control Systems Installation Experience: Experience or exposure to installing and maintaining machine control systems.
  • Surveying Knowledge: Knowledge of surveying practices, techniques, and concepts would be beneficial.
  • Interest in New Technology: Interest in new technology development.
