Job Title: Electrical Systems Lead Engineer

Join us in this exciting opportunity to lead a team of electrical engineers and contribute to the design and delivery of complex electrical systems.

About the Role:

  • Lead a team of secondary system designers and supporting our multi-disciplinary design and project management teams, including supporting and mentoring more junior engineers.
  • Taking ownership of preparing and delivering a full scope of secondary design for new and brown field sites including conducting load flow, fault levels, and protection coordination studies, relay application and protection settings, protection and control schematics, SCADA system architecture, communication protocols and auxiliary supply systems.
  • Maintaining client relationships to support project delivery and engage as a subject matter Specialist.
  • Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to define project goals, establish budgets and develop project schedules, including with our Global T&D team
  • Participate actively in design reviews, risk assessments and quality control processes to ensure design excellence.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in the design of HV and EHV substation installations, and preferably additionally for BESS, Solar/wind, with an expertise in secondary systems design, including Protection, Control, SCADA and auxiliary supplies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and technical skills with the ability to develop and lead design teams and develop strong client relationships. Ability to occasionally work with the Client's integrated team for brief periods of time. Or in the commissioning teams for substations.
  • Experience working in digital engineering environments and delivering to local technical standards and guidelines
  • Commercially minded, can understand the business needs of both AtkinsRéalis and our clients
  • Tertiary Qualifications in Electrical / Power Engineering or an Equivalent
  • NER, CPEng or RPEQ is ideal
