Our ServiceFunded by the Australian Government, our services in Dubbo and Bathurst aim to provide streamlined support for better mental health and social wellbeing nationwide.
Our ApproachOur service is tailored to regional NSW community needs, offering a combination of peer-led recovery and clinical support.
A Safe and Welcoming EnvironmentThe Medicare Mental Health Centre provides a safe and welcoming space for individuals experiencing psychological distress.
This allows access to support from trained mental health professionals within their community, outside a clinical setting.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct intake and assessments, including risk assessments, care treatment planning, and coordination with internal & external services
- Provide brief psychological interventions
- Must have one of the following: Full AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist or Mental Health Nurse, General or Provisional AHPRA registration as a Psychologist OR AASW registration/eligibility as a Social Worker (suitable for graduate Social Workers looking to develop skills in mental health)
- Knowledge and understanding of evidence-based interventions and clinical practice theory
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to engage with people, advocate on their behalf, and establish effective relationships with staff, clients, families, friends, and stakeholders
