Institute Research Director

The Waite Research Institute brings together leading research groups across faculties of the University of Adelaide in science, engineering, economics and social sciences.
Our vision is to drive innovative, collaborative, and internationally competitive research that supports profitable and sustainable production in target sectors.
We seek a Strategic Research Leader to formulate and implement our strategic direction, coordinate major research programs, and manage stakeholders and clients.
This role is responsible for operational aspects of the institute including financial management, contract management, project management, HR, OHSW and compliance with University policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve research goals.
- Coordinate research programs and projects.
- Manage relationships with stakeholders and clients.
- Oversee financial and contract management.
- Ensure compliance with University policies.
Requirements:
- Postgraduate qualification in relevant field.
- Experience in research leadership and management.
- Strong understanding of research priorities and trends.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate teams.
Benefits:
- Fixed term position available for 3 years.
- Salary scale per annum plus employer contribution of superannuation applies.
