Strategic Data Governance Lead

We are seeking a highly experienced individual to lead the strategic uplift and formalisation of data sharing across government and industry partnerships.

The successful candidate will establish a scalable and repeatable framework for data sharing agreements, aligned to our disaster management and enterprise objectives.

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive data sharing strategy, incorporating risk, legal, security, and privacy assessments.
  • Design and manage the end-to-end process for Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Data Sharing Agreements (DSA) with external entities.
  • Establish and lead a cross-functional working group to prioritise initiatives, streamline processes, and coordinate execution.
  • Facilitate internal approvals in line with governance and compliance requirements, ensuring seamless agreement execution and renewals.
  • Pursue new opportunities for high-value data partnerships that support innovation and operational uplift.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in business, Information Management, Public Policy, or related field.
  • Project Management or Business Analysis Certification (desired).
  • Demonstrated experience leading the negotiation and execution of data sharing or legal agreements, particularly with external agencies.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, risk, and compliance frameworks in regulated industries.
  • Proven ability to facilitate multi-stakeholder engagement across internal and external domains.

You will also possess key capabilities such as knowledge of regulatory considerations relating to data use and sharing, excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills, and the ability to lead working groups and facilitate cross-functional coordination.
