Light Equipment Operator

About the Opportunity:
We are currently seeking temporary Light Equipment Operators to join our Surface Ops team at the Brucejack Mine in Northwestern, British Columbia.
As a Light Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating light equipment such as bobcats, skid steers, and small excavators to perform various tasks, including loading, hauling, and unloading equipment, materials, and supplies.
You will also be responsible for completing safe work tasks, such as Job Hazard Analysis (JHA's) and Field-Level Risk and Hazard Assessment (FLRHA), and performing daily maintenance and safety checks on equipment.
Additionally, you will be required to prepare working areas, adhere to all job safety requirements, and keep work sites safe and free of hazards.

About You:
- You must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- You must have a valid driver's license with a clean driver's abstract.
- You must have a minimum of 2 to 3 years' experience as a light equipment operator or equivalent experience.
- You must be physically fit and able to perform physical labor.
- You must be able to organize and prioritize tasks, adhere to timelines, and meet deadlines.
- You must have certification in workplace hazardous materials information system (WHMIS).
- Experience working in a remote mining camp site is an asset.
- First Aid/Mine Rescue Training is considered an asset.
- You must be able to work outside in all weather conditions for an extended period of time.
- You must be able to sit for a prolonged period of time, up to 12 hours at times.
- You must be able to effectively communicate with others to ensure the timely completion of tasks in a safe manner.
- You must be able to follow instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- You must be able to handle various light machineries in a safe and controlled manner.
- You must be able to work in an ever-changing work environment with competing deadlines.
- You must be able to operate various light equipment machineries and maneuver in tight spaces.
- You must be able to work in a noisy, dusty environment for a prolonged period of time.
- You must be able to work at a remote location (camp) on a 13 days on/13 days off rotation.
- You must be able to pass a pre-employment medical screening.
- You must be able to lift/move up to 50lbs throughout a work shift.
- You must be able to maintain high levels of performance over 12 hour shifts.
- You must be able to work in areas of extreme weather conditions.
