Rolling Stock Maintenance Technician

We are seeking an experienced Rolling Stock Maintenance Technician to fill this critical role in Sydney, Australia.

About the Job:

This position is responsible for the maintenance and repair of rolling stock and its associated equipment under the scope of the rolling stock team at the Sydney Light Rail depot.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Conduct routine examinations, fault finding, interrogation, and diagnostic testing on tram equipment installed on the Sydney LR system.
  • Maintain and repair tram equipment installed on the Sydney LR system.
  • Follow all established safety procedures, good housekeeping practices, and utilize safety equipment as required.
  • Report daily and weekly on activities, problems found, and measures taken.
  • Liaise with suppliers and sub-contractors.
Requirements:
  • Certificate III Mechanical Trade qualification is required.
  • Good trouble-shooting skills with demonstrated experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in maintenance activities in a similar environment with railway industry experience an advantage but not essential.
  • A strong team player attitude and commercially minded individual who can focus on customer needs.
