Job Description:

Electoral Commission of South Australia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Senior Complaints Officer. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the effective management of complaints, promoting transparency, and upholding electoral integrity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage complex, sensitive, or high-risk complaints through efficient and comprehensive day-to-day management.
  • Assess, process, investigate, and advise on complaint finalisation in accordance with relevant legislation and guidelines.
  • Ensure accurate recording of all complaints and correspondence, adopting approved policies and procedures for triage, resolution, and escalation.
  • Refer matters for legal advice where necessary, recommending appropriate action for referral, enforcement, or prosecution.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships and influence others diplomatically and professionally.

Education and Training:

Applicants should hold a relevant degree or equivalent qualification, preferably in law, public administration, or a related field. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise in conflict resolution, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement.Benefits:

This temporary term appointment offers a competitive salary range from $85,790 to $95,413 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. Additional benefits include extensive out-of-normal-working-hours duty may be required during elections and some interstate and intrastate travel may be involved.
