Job Overview:

We are seeking experienced professionals to join our Federal Government client in a leadership role. This opportunity is at the APS6 equivalent.

The APS6 Case Manager is accountable for undertaking complex work guided by legislation, policies, procedures, standards, methodologies and precedents.

This is a leadership position which will have delegated authority and responsibility to resolve issues and risks across a range of activities. The role is required to provide leadership, control, planning, resource management, performance management and decision making for the Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining contact with internal and external stakeholders, providing detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support and advice on complex, difficult or sensitive issues.
  • Undertaking end to end case management activities, with appropriate line manager input and oversight.
  • Undertaking case management of complex AAT matters, undertaking analysis and developing options for early resolution.
  • Obtaining necessary information and advice for the effective resolution of AAT matters.
  • Attending Case Conferences, Conciliations and Hearings conducted by the AAT.
  • Preparing documents detailing resolution options and outcomes at Case Management meetings.
  • Assessing and responding to priority and risk matters, including risks that impact the participant, Scheme sustainability and the Department.
  • Preparing and building participant plans to reflect funded supports.

About You:

Qualifications in law or related discipline will be reviewed favourably.

Previous experience within a similar role is advantageous.

Ability to deliver outcomes and manage workloads to meet timeframes is essential.

Sound judgement and problem-solving skills are critical.

Strong communication and relationship skills are necessary.

Ability to prepare documents, such as those that explain a position under legislation, is required.

Clear and effective communication is vital.
