Role Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Property Revenue Team as a finance professional. You will be responsible for assisting with the recruitment process for current vacancies and providing administrative support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Entering and monitoring Payment Plans submitted by customers onto our corporate database;
- Providing copies of rates notices as requested by customers;
- Reviewing returned mail;
- Assisting in registering Incoming correspondence;
- Some financial adjustments to accounts may be required in the form of receipt transfers, interest waivers and refunds;
- To ensure compliance with the relevant Acts, policies, procedures, practices and systems as they relate to the Property Revenue functions;
- Providing efficient and effective rates administrative assistance for the Property Revenue section;
- Delivering high levels of customer service and being effective and efficient in its operations.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- An understanding of and ability to maximise the use of available technologies and systems;
- Demonstrated experience in debt collection including experience with computer-based property systems;
- Well-developed written communication skills to prepare routine correspondence and reports;
- An understanding of the function of the role within the Finance Department, including relevant policies;
- Certificate III or IV in Accounting related field or equivalent knowledge skills and experience gained through on-the-job training commensurate with the requirements of the position, preferably with an Accounts Receivable component; thorough knowledge of rating functions and understanding of relevant provisions of the Local Government Act, and other relevant legislative provisions as they relate to the roles and responsibilities of the position; and/or involvement in processes supporting legal action and debt collection;
Additional Requirements:
- Be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident;
- Be willing to undertake and maintain a current National Criminal Records Check;
Benefits:

- 37.5 hours per week;
- 2-month assignment, potential to extend;
- $35 per hour + Superannuation;
- Based in Dandenong.
