Job Summary

An Electrical Engineer Mechanic is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing complex electro-mechanical equipment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and hands-on experience with electro-mechanical systems.

  • Test and observe electrical and mechanical conditions of equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair electric motors, transformers, switchgear, generators, and other electro-mechanical equipment
  • Replace or recondition shafts, bearings, commutators, and other components
  • Wind, assemble, and install various types of coils
Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and repair electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries, and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems
  • Test and repair or replace faulty wiring or components in electrical switchgear
  • Perform static or dynamic balancing of armatures or rotors
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary diploma or certificate in electrical engineering technology or equivalent experience
  • 2-3 years of experience in electrical maintenance or repair
  • Strong understanding of electrical circuits and electronics
  • Ability to distinguish colors; attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
