Protecting Underground Infrastructure: A Vital Role

This position involves collaborating with homeowners, contractors, and utility crews to ensure the safety of digging activities. You will work closely with your team to identify and mark underground utility lines using provided tools and technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Observe digging activities at active job sites and verify that safety rules are followed
  • Support safe digging practices by working directly with various stakeholders
  • Learn to identify and mark underground utility lines using company-provided tools and technology
  • Verify and update utility line markings as needed
  • Keep records of site visits, conversations, and activities using company tools
  • Conduct regular checks to ensure accuracy and compliance with safety procedures
  • Maintain assigned tools, equipment, and vehicle with proper upkeep
  • Respond to time-sensitive situations and support your team during emergencies
  • Promote a culture of safety within your team by sharing best practices and expertise

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and a willingness to learn
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Able to work independently in the field, problem-solve, and adapt to changing conditions
  • Valid driver's license
  • Familiarity with 811 dig laws and safe excavation practices preferred but not required
