About the Role

As a dedicated Health and Safety Professional, we are seeking an individual to join our team in supporting operations at Lake Vermont. This is a fixed-term or secondment opportunity ideal for someone looking to make a meaningful impact while gaining valuable experience.

You will report directly to the project's Health, Safety & Training Manager and play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing the site's Safety and Health Management System. This dynamic, hands-on role requires flexibility and adaptability to ensure success.

The role will focus on occupational health aspects within the workplace, with responsibilities including:

  • Coordinating all functional safety issues, including the maintenance of relevant records and reports.
  • Implementing the injury management process and driving a strong safety culture.
  • Liaising with other departments to achieve site safety objectives.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable Health and Safety Laws, Regulations, and statutory obligations at all times.
  • Assisting department owners in completing Workplace Risk Assessments and Incident Investigations.
  • Managing incident reporting, including work and non-work-related injury rehabilitation and illness.
  • Aligning health and injury management processes with company policies and procedures, including workplace insurance claims.
  • Assisting Supervisors and employees with Return-to-Work strategies, developing proactive and timely individual health management plans.
  • Coordinating hygiene exposure monitoring programs with site service providers.
  • Developing and delivering health promotion initiatives for the Lake Vermont workforce.

Requirements for Success:

  • A genuine passion for the safety and health of front-line personnel.
  • Tertiary qualification in Health & Safety.
  • Hold S1, S2, S3, and G2 certifications.
  • Possess Standard 11 certification.
  • Experience in injury management and return-to-work coordination.
  • Ability to facilitate ICAM Investigations.
  • Capacity to populate and facilitate risk assessments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
