About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Systems Specialist to join our team at Gold Fields. As a key member of our Technology Team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, profitable, and efficient operation of our mining operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the site Process Control Management of Change process, ensuring all changes are approved, well documented, and tested;
- Identify, implement, and manage control system upgrades to improve the reliability of operational technology;
- Recognise and input process optimisation opportunities by utilising operational technology, including automated plant startups and shutdowns;
- Provide technical direction and support to electrical personnel in fields of instrumentation, process control, automation, functional safety, industrial data networks, and tele-remote/guidance systems.
Requirements:
- A tertiary qualification in Control Systems Engineering, IT, or a related discipline;
- Prior proven process control system experience, preferably in the Mining industry;
- Prior experience in gold or base metals and milling operations is desirable;
- Experience with automation of Mineral Processing Plants;
- A WA C class manual drivers license;
- Proficiency in AVEVA Plant SCADA; Schneider EcoStruxure Control Expert; Octoplant; and TCP/IP, WiFi, Ethernet, and fibre optic communications would be highly regarded;
- Knowledge of OsiSoft PI Historian and underground remote operational technology is desirable;
- A Senior First Aid Certificate is desirable.
