First Nations Cultural Liaison

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Cultural Specialist to join our team in Alice Springs on a casual basis.
The successful candidate will work closely with First Nations residents and clients to ensure they remain connected to their culture and country.
Key responsibilities include providing advocacy, maintaining a sense of connection and belonging, and working collaboratively with community members.
The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated and proactive individual with excellent communication skills and a strong ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities- Provide advocacy and support to First Nations residents and clients
- Maintain a sense of connection and belonging among community members
- Work collaboratively with community members to achieve shared goals
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
- Ability to speak local First Nations language and communicate effectively with First Nations people
- Demonstrated sensitivity to the cultural requirements of indigenous people and their families
- Ability to use own initiative and work autonomously with sound judgement
- Prior experience working in a not-for-profit environment supporting First Nations communities
- 25% casual loading included in hourly rate
- Annual pay rise in accordance with Enterprise Agreement
