About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Cultural Specialist to join our team in Alice Springs on a casual basis.

The successful candidate will work closely with First Nations residents and clients to ensure they remain connected to their culture and country.

Key responsibilities include providing advocacy, maintaining a sense of connection and belonging, and working collaboratively with community members.

The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated and proactive individual with excellent communication skills and a strong ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide advocacy and support to First Nations residents and clients
  • Maintain a sense of connection and belonging among community members
  • Work collaboratively with community members to achieve shared goals
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
Requirements
  • Ability to speak local First Nations language and communicate effectively with First Nations people
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to the cultural requirements of indigenous people and their families
  • Ability to use own initiative and work autonomously with sound judgement
  • Prior experience working in a not-for-profit environment supporting First Nations communities
