About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate First Nations Career Specialist to join our team at Australian Regional and Remote Community Services (ARRCS).

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with new and existing trainees to support career pathways and lifestyle plans in Aged and Disability care.
  • Provide strong advocacy for First Nations and maintain their connection to community.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement career development programs.
  • Identify and address the cultural requirements of indigenous people and their families.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records of client progress and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
  • Preferable, however not essential to have the knowledge and ability to speak in Aboriginal language.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to the cultural requirements of indigenous people and their families.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, preferably in a mentoring or training capacity.
  • A demonstrated understanding of the issues facing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities with preference to youth.
  • Initiative to work autonomously and sound judgement.
  • Ability to follow systems and processes to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to reflect on own performance and seek guidance when required.
  • Ability to problem solve and use initiative to maximize positive outcome.

ARRCS Mandatory compliance

A National Police Check dated or lodged within the last 3 months.

Current Influenza Vaccination.

A NDIS Screening check or proof of application.
