Business Editor Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Editor to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead our business and finance journalism across our mastheads.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing the editorial vision and strategy for business and finance journalism.
  • Managing a team to align with the editorial and strategic goals of the business.
  • Commissioning and editing stories across all aspects of business journalism.
  • Building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A passion for finance and business journalism.
  • A drive for breaking news and setting the agenda.
  • Strong journalistic background with great editorial judgement.
  • Strong digital publishing skills.
  • An awareness of online publishing audience trends.

You will also be responsible for managing teams in Sydney and Melbourne, while being willing to travel between locations. Additional responsibilities include upholding the values of the newsroom, setting the editorial direction, and representing the mastheads publicly.
