We are seeking a Centre Manager to join the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, Faculty of Science, Academic Division at Queensland University of Technology (QUT).

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and management of the Centre's core operational activities, working closely with the Director and other senior leaders to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of the Centre's vision and objectives.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the Centre's strategic plan, aligning with QUT's research priorities and goals.
  • Manage and coordinate research projects, collaborations, and partnerships, ensuring high-quality outcomes and impact.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including researchers, industry partners, and government agencies.
  • Oversee the Centre's budget, resources, and operations, ensuring effective use of resources and compliance with QUT policies and procedures.
  • Lead and manage a team of staff, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities to ensure their success and well-being.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging issues in sustainability and environment, applying this knowledge to inform the Centre's activities and strategies.
Requirements
  • Education, training, and/or relevant experience in a research training/funding environment, equivalent to completion of postgraduate qualifications with extensive relevant experience.
  • Progress towards a postgraduate degree in a STEMM discipline, with extensive relevant experience may be advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute new ideas to achieve ongoing improvements at a strategic and operational level.
  • Knowledge of existing networks and organisations in Australia which share similar objectives is desirable.
  • Demonstrated analytical and research skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build a team environment and provide positive leadership to staff and connect and collaborate with varied groups across an organisation.
  • High level written and oral communication skills to deliver clear and concise reports, plans, and complex correspondence using a variety of digital technologies.
  • Experience in science communication using social media and websites is desirable.
  • High level ability to manage time and tasks effectively and meet a range of competing deadlines in a timely manner without compromising quality.
