ICT Professional Leadership Role

We are seeking highly skilled and experienced ICT professionals to lead our high-performing teams. As an ICT Manager/Team Lead, you will be responsible for delivering capability across the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) and its stakeholders.

The successful candidates will have a strong customer focus and excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to negotiate at senior level and delegate effectively.

You will also be required to oversee the design, maintenance, and configuration of ASD's ICT network infrastructure and keep current with network technologies and automation to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency.

In addition, you will be accountable for accurate completion of work within timeframes and quality requirements, share your expertise with others, and guide and mentor less experienced employees.

• Communication & Engagement:
  • Negotiate at senior level on technical and commercial issues to ensure stakeholder understanding and agreement.
  • Have a strong customer focus and liaise with other support teams to resolve network events and activities.
  • Build and sustain relationships and liaise with stakeholders, other teams, peers, and colleagues.
• Technical:
  • Ensure appropriate action is taken to anticipate, communicate, investigate, and resolve problems in systems and services.
  • Design and implement solutions to service and degradation issues impacting on desired service levels.
  • Oversee the design, maintenance, and configuration of the ASD's ICT network infrastructure to extend capability.
  • Keep current with network technologies and automation to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency.
• Financial & Project:
  • Provide clear direction to stakeholders regarding available IT services and promote financial and commercial awareness to deliver value for money.
  • Assess and measure IT projects to understand critical factors for success, identifying issues and risks to develop risk mitigation strategies.
  • Manage financial and human resources for the team in line with government standards.
• ITSM:
  • Drive the continual improvement of IT Service Management Practices (including but not limited to Incident, Change, Monitoring & Event, Service Catalogue, Measurement & Reporting).
  • Undertake development and review of IT Service Management Governance including Policy, Process, and Procedure.
  • Design and implement reporting frameworks to measure performance.
• General:
  • Create plans and assign appropriate tasking to team members and developers to continuously improve capabilities to ensure they remain current and meet continually evolving user needs.
  • Be accountable for accurate completion of work within timeframes and quality requirements, share your expertise with others, and guide and mentor less experienced employees.
  • Be accountable to perform complex procedural, operational, administrative, and business support activities, manage workflow and resources, and prepare work area and team plans.

The Enterprise Technology Division within the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD), is responsible for delivering ASD's ICT Business Change, Service Delivery, and Support functions to support ASD's capabilities and missions.

This position has people management responsibilities and as such, you will be required to exercise your knowledge and people management skills to lead a high-performing and cohesive team.
