We are seeking a highly skilled Paediatrician Specialist to join our team at CC Medical. As a key member of our Paediatric Department, you will be responsible for providing specialist paediatric care to both inpatient and ambulatory patients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide specialist care of children admitted to the general paediatric ward on a roster basis, including afterhours cover.
- Conduct regular inpatient ward rounds and outpatient sessions, incorporating supervision and teaching of junior staff.
- Participate in provision of specialist outreach paediatric services to regional hospitals and/or remote communities.
- Provide specialist care and advice on the management of children to non-paediatric colleagues within the hospital, and to colleagues in geographically isolated centres.
- Participate in continuous medical education, including undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, professional development, peer review, research, and quality improvement activities.
- Collaborate with other medical, nursing, and allied health colleagues to review and revise policies, procedures, and guidelines in line with national and international recommendations.
- Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies, and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to ensure high-quality, safe services and workplaces.
- Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modeling behavior.
Our hospital has 360 beds, servicing a population of over 140,000. It is a diverse population, including urban, regional, and remote centres, and is a teaching hospital co-located with a private hospital.

Requirements- Registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians and skills appropriate for general paediatric care.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and the ability to interact positively in a team and in a cross-cultural work environment.
- Flexibility: an ability to work in a complex and unpredictable environment.
- A demonstrated interest in and commitment to improving Indigenous health.
- Experience in acute and developmental and behavioural paediatrics.
- An understanding of the importance of child protection, and trauma-informed care in our region.
- Evidence of commitment to continuing education, teaching, research, and quality improvement activities.
- Specific experience in adolescent medicine.
- Experience contributing to the development and implementation of local/regional policy.
