About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Neonatal Paediatrician to join our team at CC Medical. As a key member of our Paediatric Department, you will provide specialist care to both inpatient and ambulatory patients, and contribute to postgraduate education and training.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide Specialist Care: Provide specialist care of infants admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit on a roster basis, including after-hours cover and participation in a neonatal retrieval roster.
  2. Outpatient Sessions: Conduct regular outpatient sessions, including neonatal follow-up clinics.
  3. Specialist Advice: Provide specialist neonatal advice to colleagues in geographically isolated centres in the region.
  4. Continuous Medical Education: Participate in continuous medical education, including undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, professional development, peer review, research, and quality improvement activities.
  5. Collaboration and Leadership: Collaborate with other medical, nursing, and allied health colleagues to review and revise policies, procedures, and guidelines in line with national and international recommendations. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.

Requirements
  1. Registration and Qualifications: Registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians (RACP); Neonatal and Perinatal Medicine and/or advanced trainees anticipating completion of subspecialty training and awarding of Fellowship in the next 6 months.
  2. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and the ability to interact positively in a team and in a cross-cultural work environment.
  3. Flexibility and Adaptability: Flexibility and an ability to work in a complex and unpredictable environment.
  4. Commitment to Continuing Education: Evidence of commitment to continuing education, teaching, research, and quality improvement activities.
Desirable Qualifications

Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians (RACP); General Paediatrics.
