Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Child and Family Care Manager to join our team in Mackay. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for leading a team of professionals to ensure the safety and well-being of children and young people in our care.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in child protection, youth work, or a related field, with a proven track record of managing teams and achieving outcomes in complex environments.

This is a full-time position that requires a high level of autonomy, initiative, and problem-solving skills. You will need to be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of Child and Family Care professionals to deliver high-quality services to children and young people.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and programs to promote the safety and well-being of children and young people.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve strategic objectives and improve outcomes for children and young people.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and risk to ensure effective service delivery.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in child protection, youth work, or a related field.
  • Proven leadership and management skills, with experience in team management and coaching.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
