Job Title: Bereavement Support Specialist
About the RoleWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker to join our team as a Bereavement Support Specialist. In this role, you will work closely with residents, families, and community members to provide emotional support and guidance during times of bereavement.
The successful applicant will spend 3 hours per fortnight at each home planning and facilitating group and individual sessions. These sessions will be held in a warm and inviting setting, such as our Esprit Café, where individuals can share their experiences and connect with others who have gone through similar situations.
Your primary responsibility will be to create a safe and supportive environment where participants feel comfortable sharing their stories and emotions. You will work collaboratively with our lifestyle teams to develop and implement programs that meet the needs of our residents and the broader community.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Degree or Diploma in social work, psychology, or other related qualification.
- Sound understanding of the theory and practice of working with bereavement.
- Demonstrated ability to assess and respond to risk issues to ensure the safety and wellbeing of participants.
