Food Safety Position

We are seeking a dedicated professional to represent our company in supporting our flagship client.

This is a full-time, site-based position with flexible working hours and a high level of autonomy. You will play a critical role in maintaining day-to-day compliance with the site's Food Safety Program and the Food Standards Code.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct internal food safety audits (both desktop and walkthroughs)
  • Develop, write, and submit audit and compliance reports to site management
  • Facilitate weekly food safety induction training
  • Collect and submit food samples for microbiological analysis
  • Conduct onsite rapid hygiene testing
  • Investigate incidents related to alleged food poisoning, foreign object contamination, allergen incidents, and more
  • Prepare the site for Environmental Health Officer (EHO) inspections and host visits
  • Facilitate weekly chef's meetings with a focus on food safety compliance
  • Calibrate handheld probe thermometers internally
  • Attend management meetings to discuss food safety performance and improvements
  • Work closely with the executive chef team, offering day-to-day support and guidance

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in food safety or environmental health
  • Strong understanding of the Food Standards Code and HACCP principles
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Confidence working independently and communicating with all levels of staff, including executives
  • High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
  • Professional presentation and a proactive attitude
  • A current driver's licence
  • Full working rights in Australia
