Program Coordinator Role

Join a dynamic team of professionals who are dedicated to ensuring compliance with Australian measurement laws and regulations. As a Program Coordinator, you will play a critical role in the development and implementation of programs that promote fair trade and protect consumers.

The National Measurement Institute (NMI) is a key player in the Australian Government's economic agenda, and our Programs and Governance Section is responsible for overseeing the delivery of diverse business operational requirements. This includes providing corporate support to the General Manager, LMB.

  • Job Description:
    • Working under the direction of Assistant Managers, Program Coordination and Monitoring, and Program Coordination and Engagement, you will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to research and analyze compliance trends related to Acts and Regulations.
    • You will develop program proposals assessing risk and designing intervention and mitigation strategies for endorsement, and once endorsed, develop project plans to improve marketplace regulatory compliance using contemporary intervention strategies.
    • The role may involve Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with other Commonwealth agencies to provide program-based inspections and audit services, and support related administrative tasks such as review, amendment, and production of internal procedures, reporting, and invoicing.

    • Research, analysis, problem-solving, and prioritization skills
    • Design, development, operationalization, analysis, and reporting of Compliance Programs
    • Time management and the ability to manage competing tasks
    • Strong oral and written communication with high accuracy and attention to detail
    • Negotiation and presentation skills for diverse audiences
    • Knowledge of legislation, policies, and procedures relating to LMB activities
