About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Food Service Assistant to join our team at Alcheringa home in Swan Hill, Victoria. As a Food Service Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of our Food Safety Program (FSP).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to menu planning to meet the resident's needs and preferences.
  • Preparation, serving, presentation, and delivery of food and refreshments in accordance with the FSP.
  • General cleaning in accordance with the FSP.
  • Assist with the monitoring and recording requirements of the FSP.
  • Ensure friendly and timely delivery of meals and refreshments to all residents.
  • Participate in the ongoing quality review of the FSP.
  • Report any concerns/difficulties experienced with care recipients in relation to food and beverages to the Registered Nurse In Charge.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in residential aged care or a similar environment.
  • Experience in hospitality or catering.
  • A relevant qualification, i.e Food Safety and Food Handling Certificate.
  • An ability to communicate with a diverse range of people.
  • The ability to work as part of a team.
  • Current National Police Certificate (or ability to acquire).
  • Flexibility for shift work.
