Strategic Academic Leader

Develop a vibrant academic environment that fosters growth and advancement in medical education within the Canberra region.

This newly established role aims to ensure a dynamic and collaborative clinical school contributing to the teaching of students at all levels, while elevating the academic posture of partner organisations.

You will deliver high-quality medical curriculum and facilitate impactful research. Provide academic leadership, mentorship, and support to the academic community, including staff and programs.

We are open to conversations from interested individuals who meet the below criteria:

  • A degree in a relevant field of medicine, health care, or public health.
  • Eligibility for registration as a medical practitioner in NSW and the ACT.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing academic leadership and supervising, mentoring, and developing multidisciplinary teams.
  • A track record of conducting excellent medical research.
  • Exceptional leadership skills, visible presence while demonstrating understanding of local environments and personnel.
  • Evidence of high-quality teaching and the ability to develop and implement teaching programs.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to foster relationships with various staff and students.
