Heavy Diesel Mechanic – Maintenance Specialist

We are looking for a skilled Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Port Hedland.
This is an exciting opportunity to perform planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance across heavy mobile equipment at Dampier Salt Operations.
- Maintain a high level of safety awareness and comply with company policies and procedures.
- Perform routine maintenance on the harvester and tractor fleet, identifying repair actions when required.
- Maintain and repair the CAT and Komatsu dozer fleet, determining repair actions when needed.
- Look after the SCANIA haul truck/trailer fleet and auxiliary equipment fleet, including CAT graders, excavators, water trucks and other machinery.
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects, increasing safety while reducing risk and cost.
- A commitment to your own safety and the safety of your team.
- A trade qualification in Heavy Duty Fitting or Plant Mechanics.
- Experience in maintaining and servicing heavy mobile equipment.
- An Australian manual drivers' licence.
- Eligibility to work in Australia without requiring visa sponsorship.
In this permanent position, you will be working directly for Rio Tinto in a workplace where safety always comes first. The base salary reflects your skills and experience, and there's also an annual incentive program in place.
