Procurement Specialist Role Overview

This is a pivotal opportunity to join a Defence Acquisition program as a skilled Contract/Procurement Specialist.

The role involves expertise in vendor management, strategic sourcing, and contract negotiation to support the delivery of critical Defence capabilities.

The ideal candidate will have experience in procurement within the Defence sector and possess strong vendor management skills with a track record of successful negotiations.

Key responsibilities include leading end-to-end procurement activities, managing evaluations, conducting supplier negotiations, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to align procurement strategies with program objectives.

  • Lead procurements from initiation to close-out, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and alignment with program goals.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with subcontractors to ensure project success.
  • Monitor supplier performance, implementing corrective actions as necessary to maintain compliance and performance standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address procurement-related risks and opportunities.
  • Support the preparation of procurement documentation, including statements of work, tender evaluation plans, and contract terms.
Essential Criteria
  • Proven experience in procurement within the Defence sector, ideally below the line.
  • Strong vendor management skills with a track record of successful negotiations.
  • Ability to navigate complex procurement processes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting large-scale infrastructure/construction programs.
  • NV1 security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
