Native Title Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Energy and Resources Lawyer to join our team as a Partner. The successful candidate will have a strong industry profile and a specialist capability in Native Title and Cultural Heritage Law.
The role involves working closely with other industry leaders on advisory and litigious matters, including drafting and negotiation of cultural heritage and native title agreements, landowner agreements, and mining lease applications.
The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to work effectively both autonomously and in a large collaborative team environment, and will be currently at Partner or Special Counsel level in a prominent or respected specialist practice.

Key Responsibilities- Drafting and negotiation of cultural heritage and native title agreements for the energy and resources sectors.
- Drafting landowner agreements, land access agreements, compensation agreements, and mining lease applications.
- Providing strategic advice on State & Federal environmental processes, land acquisition, overlapping tenure, and regulatory approval processes.
- Complex litigation including Land Court issues as well as advice, mediations and negotiation in relation to native title applications and determinations in the Supreme, Federal, Full Federal, High Court and Court of Appeal.
To secure this role, you will have:
- A strong industry profile as an Energy & Resources Lawyer with a specialist capability in Native Title and Cultural Heritage Law.
- An ability to work effectively both autonomously and in a large collaborative team environment.
- Currently be at Partner or Special Counsel level (or equivalent) in a prominent or respected specialist practice.
