About the Role

As a Mechanical Fitter with Tronox, you'll be part of our Maintenance Team at our Broken Hill Mineral Separation Plant. You'll work a 9-day fortnight on a compressed 38-hour week, with a 7:00am-4:00pm schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to ensure accurate maintenance and repairs.
  • Perform routine maintenance activities, including fault finding, installation, and repair of plant and equipment.
  • Monitor operating equipment to detect potential problems and take proactive measures to prevent downtime.
  • Assemble and install machinery and equipment according to layout plans and manufacturer instructions.
  • Conduct regular inspections and tests to ensure proper functioning of machinery and equipment.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure smooth operations and achieve business objectives.

About You

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A Mechanical Trade qualification (Fitter/Boilermaker)
  • Previous experience in a fixed plant processing environment
  • A strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints
  • Excellent attention to detail and precision
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • A valid Driver's License
