As a Mechanical Fitter at our Broken Hill Mineral Separation Plant, you'll be part of our Maintenance Team, working on a 9-day fortnight roster with a 38-hour week. You'll be responsible for:
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Performing maintenance activities, including fault finding, installation, maintenance, and repair of plant and equipment.
- Monitoring operating equipment to detect potential problems.
- Assembling and installing machinery and equipment according to layout plans and manufacturer instructions.
- Performing preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Conducting tests and inspections to ensure proper functioning of machinery and equipment.
- Adhering to safety protocols and regulations at all times.
- Collaborating with team members and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
About You:
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A Mechanical Trade qualification (Fitter / Boilermaker).
- Ability to work independently or as part of a cohesive, multi-trade maintenance team.
- Previous experience gained within a fixed plant processing environment.
- A Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Excellent attention to detail and precision.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- A valid Driver's License.
- Ability to work nightshift.
