Architect Lead for Complex Solutions

In this role, you will be responsible for developing architectures for complex solutions ensuring consistency with agreed requirements.

You will provide technical guidance and governance on solution development and integration, identifying and evaluating alternative architectures and their trade-offs in cost, performance, and scalability.

Your task will include producing specifications of cloud-based or on-premises components, tiers, and interfaces for translation into detailed designs using selected services and products.

As a key member of our team, you will manage and coordinate the target architecture across multiple projects, work streams or initiatives, ensuring architecturally significant determinations are effectively documented.

Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of policies, principles, and practices for the selection of architecture components.

Evaluate requests for changes and deviations from specifications and recommend actions to delegates and governance bodies for endorsement/decision or other appropriate action.

Work as part of an Agile project/program team or business as usual area as directed.

  • Proven experience (3-5 years) as a Solution Architect on large-scale transformation projects or programs.
  • Proficiency with: Microsoft 365, Azure DevOps, Azure API Management, Azure Application Service Environments, Azure Functions and Logic Apps, Azure Service Bus.
  • Knowledge of Blazor, React, Open AI, HATEOAS, asynchronous integration frameworks, and data microservices.

Strong communication skills to distil technical information for broad audiences and to translate between technical teams and business areas.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with risk management for fit-for-purpose solutions.

Tertiary qualifications or industry-recognised certification in Information Management, Computer Science, or a related discipline. Strong skills in Archimate (3.1).

Experience delivering large-scale ICT transformation projects, preferably in a Commonwealth Government setting. Knowledge of Commonwealth Government frameworks and Agile methodologies (e.g., SCRUM, Kanban, SAFe).
