
Empathetic Mental Health Support Specialist

Latrobe Regional Hospital is seeking a skilled individual to join our Specialist and Therapeutic Programs Team as a Mental Health Lived Experience Worker. This part-time ongoing position plays a vital role in providing a consumer lived experience perspective into mental health service planning, delivery, and evaluation.
This role involves working directly with consumers and relevant staff to assist with recovery in a practical, therapeutic, and meaningful way across various services, including inpatient units as directed. The successful candidate will also share their lived experience and facilitate activities to encourage full participation of consumers and carers in our mental health services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure awareness of the lived experience role within the organisation.
- Work with consumers and staff to assist with recovery and provide a consumer lived experience perspective.
- Share lived experience and facilitate activities to promote consumer and carer participation.
Requirements:
- A strong understanding of mental health and its impact on individuals and communities.
- The ability to work effectively with consumers and staff to achieve positive outcomes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
