
Livestock Specialist

We are seeking a motivated and experienced livestock professional to join our team.
The successful candidate will work as part of the livestock team to ensure safe, efficient, and humane livestock operations.
Key responsibilities include raising livestock for meat production, overseeing feeding and nutrition programs, monitoring and maintaining animal health and welfare.
Additional duties include providing water, growing pastures and fodder crops, organising farming operations and routines, directing and overseeing general farming activities, and maintaining and evaluating records.
- Raising livestock for the production of meat
- Overseeing and undertaking feeding and nutrition programs
- Monitoring and maintaining the health, welfare and condition of livestock
- Providing water and growing pastures and fodder crops
- Organising farming operations and routines
- Directing and overseeing general farming activities
- Organising transportation of livestock
- Maintaining and evaluating records of farming activities
- Relevant experience handling cattle in a manner that promotes their welfare and wellbeing
- Ability to work in a team environment and at times under limited supervision
- Previous experience with handling cattle in an intensive feedlot environment
- Good attention to detail and an ability to keep accurate records
- An ability to follow set protocols and ensure compliance with relevant animal welfare, safety, and QA requirements
- A good working knowledge of safe work practices and requirements
- Basic machinery operation skills
- Basic computer literacy
