Procurement Role

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Procurement Buyer.

In this role, you will play a key part in transforming procurement for our Benalla Plant. You will source and select suppliers, develop relationships, and achieve the best possible outcomes in terms of price, quality, service, and risk exposure for components and raw materials for existing and new products.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Select and develop suppliers through rigorous evaluation and performance audits
  • Manage category spend analytics, sourcing strategies, and supplier negotiations
  • Collaborate with regional and global category teams to align and execute sourcing plans
  • Manage requests for proposal, pricing agreements, forecasting, reporting, and lifecycle costing
  • Achieve annual cost reductions through negotiation, benchmarking, and localization
  • Ensure material flow, mitigate risks, and develop alternative sourcing strategies
  • B Foster long-term supplier partnerships that drive innovation and sustainability
  • Leverage digital tools to minimize non-value-added activities in procurement
  • Align procurement practices with Schneider's sustainability goals through responsible sourcing

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering combined with experience in a similar role, ideally within a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of transformer components and related supply chain requirements
  • Proven technical skills in relation to procurement, buying, and sourcing requirements
  • Intermediate IT skills, experienced in the use of digital tools and other best practices
  • Strong data analysis, negotiation, and stakeholder relationship management skills
  • Project management capabilities and demonstrated experience in partnering with domestic and international stakeholders
