Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced National Safety Manager to join our team at Timbertruss. As a key member of our organisation, you will be responsible for leading the development, implementation, and maintenance of our safety processes across VIC and QLD locations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement of our Safety Management System to ensure compliance with national and state legislative requirements and industry best practices.
  • Design and deliver safety training programs for all employees.
  • Lead workplace investigations of incidents and accidents, preparing detailed reports and recommending safety improvements.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on safety-related risks, matters, and issues.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and accessible safety-related documentation.
  • Foster relationships with suppliers, customers, and industry contacts to promote Timbertruss' commitment to safety.
  • Lead the HSR team in developing a positive safety culture.

Key Requirements:

  • Relevant formal qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety (e.g., Diploma of WHS, Cert IV WHS, or similar).
  • Proven experience in a WHS management role, preferably in manufacturing or a similar industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and regulations.
  • Experience with risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety audits.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage employees at all levels.
  • Ability to design and implement effective safety programs.
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills.
