Lead Compliance Officer

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a small team in assessing compliance with key environmental legislation.

This role involves providing technical advice and guidance on proposed compliance strategies, participating in stakeholder meetings, and conducting investigations across regional and remote locations.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of compliance officers to ensure timely delivery of assessments and advice
  • Develop and implement effective compliance strategies to minimize risk
  • Participate in stakeholder meetings to build relationships and negotiate outcomes
  • Conduct investigations into alleged non-compliance, gathering evidence and interviewing stakeholders

The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership and project management skills, as well as strong technical knowledge in environmental management.

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in environmental management or a related field is required, along with an unrestricted driver's license and manual driving skills.

This role may require overnight travel, including visits to active mine sites and industrial locations. The ideal candidate must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing competing deadlines.
