Job Opportunity: Environmental Specialist

We are seeking a professional Environmental Officer with experience in road construction/maintenance to fill this role for 2 years, with potential for extensions and future projects.

  • This position requires providing timely, efficient, consistent, innovative, and compliant environment services to staff and external consultants.
Mandatory Experience Requirements:
  • A minimum of 2 years' relevant industry experience involving infrastructure project delivery, including environmental or cultural heritage management, provision of advice, reports, and services according to Transport and Main Roads standards.
  • Demonstrated expertise in ecological assessments, environmental planning and permits, erosion and sediment control.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
  • Auditor certification and demonstrated experience in auditing roles.
  • Experience in pre-construction, construction, and post-construction phases of infrastructure projects.
  • Implementation of management systems according to ISO standards.
  • Certified Erosion and Sediment Control practitioner.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders, including community groups, local governments, contractors, and government agencies.
Mandatory Qualifications:
  • A degree in Environmental Science/Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering, or equivalent qualification accepted by the relevant authority and able to provide evidence of both.
