
Housing Advocate

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team in providing vital support services to individuals and families experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference in people's lives, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver short-term support, crisis intervention, and case management.
The successful candidate will have a sound understanding of issues confronting disadvantaged adults and their families, particularly those not engaged with other services. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and establish effective relationships with clients and stakeholders.
The role involves undertaking case management, including intake, assessment, case planning, key worker responsibilities, and supported referrals. The individual will work closely with local housing offices, other support providers, and community organizations to ensure seamless service delivery.
A strong knowledge of trauma-informed care and the link between trauma and homelessness is essential for this position. The ideal candidate will be able to think critically and respond effectively in complex situations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake case management, including intake, assessment, case planning, and key worker responsibilities.
- Establish and maintain action plans and outcome star plans for adults and families.
- Work collaboratively with local housing offices, other support providers, and community organizations.
- Provide short-term support, crisis intervention, and case management services.
Requirements:
- A minimum qualification of a sector-recognized and accredited Diploma in Youth Work, Social, or Welfare Work or equivalent.
- A current Driver's License.
- A sound understanding of issues confronting disadvantaged adults and their families.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
