Job Description:

Your role is to provide exceptional reception and admission support services.

You will be responsible for:

  • Answering telephone and desk enquiries, assisting where possible or referring the enquirer to the appropriate caregiver;
  • Welcome patients on admission and provide room orientation as necessary;
  • Completing all relevant admitting and discharge procedures and documentation;
  • Maintaining responsibility for managing patient health records associated with admissions, transfers and discharges;
  • Ensuring accurate collation and return of patient health records to the PHIS Department within 24 hours of discharge during weekdays or as soon as possible on Monday for discharges over the weekend;
  • Updating Patient Administration system data accurately and continuously;
  • Coordinating bed transfers between wards and holding bays using BAS;
  • Arranging follow-up appointments for patients with medical practitioner's rooms and allied health professionals;
  • Updating caregiver rosters on rostering system database daily or as requested;
  • Training new and relief administration assistants and orientating new caregivers to clerical requirements;
  • Liaising with nursing and medical caregivers regarding enquiries and appointments;
  • Entering nurse pagers into the Nurse Paging System;
  • Ordering and maintaining stationery supplies;
  • All other reasonable duties as directed by the Manager/Supervisor.
