Senior Estimator for Infrastructure Projects

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Estimator to lead the estimation team in delivering major infrastructure projects across the state.

This role requires a strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and relevant Australian standards, as well as the ability to manage tendering and procurement processes, including preparing documentation and evaluating bids.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets in collaboration with project teams.
  • Tendering & Procurement: Manage tendering and procurement processes, including preparing documentation and evaluating bids.
  • Contract Management: Administer and negotiate contracts, ensuring variations and claims are managed effectively.
  • Budget Monitoring & Reporting: Monitor project budgets, track costs, and provide clear financial reporting.
  • Value Engineering: Identify and implement value engineering opportunities to achieve cost savings without compromising quality.
  • Risk & Compliance: Conduct cost risk assessments and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with clients, internal teams, and consultants to align on project cost outcomes.
Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience as an Estimator in civil construction and remediation projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of remediation practices, public infrastructure works, and local authority project requirements.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and relevant Australian standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and estimating software.
  • High level of numerical accuracy, analytical ability, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Experience preparing tenders for councils or government clients will be highly regarded.
