Executive Governance Specialist

A prominent regional Council in Melbourne's south west is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Executive Governance Specialist to spearhead the development of the Council Plan 2025-2029.

This pivotal role will guide the strategic direction of the Shire over the next four years, focusing on community engagement outcomes, the Municipal Health and Wellbeing Plan, and aligning with the legislated Integrated Strategic Planning and Reporting Framework (ISPRF).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of the Council Plan 2025-2029, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and incorporating community engagement outcomes.
  • Coordinate community engagement activities in line with Council policy and the Local Government Act 2020 for an inclusive Council Plan.
  • Manage contractors and consultants to deliver quality outputs on time.
  • Guide internal stakeholders to understand project roles, responsibilities, and deadlines.
  • Gather and integrate data from regional insights and partnerships like G21 and SW Alliance.
  • Draft the Council Plan and coordinate the Council Plan Action Plan, aligning with strategic objectives.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience and understanding of the Local Government environment and processes.
  • Relevant experience in project management, including contract administration and supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships and communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in MS Project and MS office suite, with experience in delivering projects in a politically sensitive environment.
