Operational Officer - Room Service Representative Job Description

Casual positions are available for Operational Officers to work in our Room Service Call Centre, responding to incoming patient meal orders and enquiries.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Accurately take patient meal orders using electronic applications or iPads, ensuring patient safety guidelines and customer service standards are met.
  2. Be familiar with the Room Service menu, using appropriate terminology to confidently describe options and actively promote up-selling items.
  3. Explain menu options and adhere to guidelines and coding compliance for patients with Therapeutic Diet requirements.
  4. Perform administrative tasks, troubleshoot patient and staff enquiries, and liaise with Clinical staff as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Excellent customer service skills with a willingness to exceed patient expectations.
  • High level of communication skills, including building rapport quickly with patients and working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Confidence using computers and technology, with sound knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • A strong work ethic, positive attitude, and ability to work in a team, promoting the Mater values.
