Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Transport Operations Manager to join our team at GKR Transport. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the coordination and supervision of yard operational activities, ensuring the prompt and safe delivery of freight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a team of forklift drivers to ensure efficient and safe operations.
  • Coordinate assistance with linehaul and movement of trucks and trailers around the depot.
  • Oversee the receipt of freight and coordinate dispatch.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and implement safety initiatives as needed.
  • Optimize depot layout and storage methods to maximize space utilization.
  • Arrange and coordinate day-to-day communication within the business.
  • Accurately manifest trailers loads and manage driver paperwork.
  • Data entry of customers' daily collections via online system.
  • Support the schedulers via emails and phone calls.
  • Assist in other departments when required.
  • Maintain compliance with all policies and procedures implemented by the company.
  • Service coordinator of Melbourne-based fleet and equipment.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a leadership role, preferably in the transport industry.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Manifesting experience desirable.
  • At least 2 years' experience driving MC with an unrestricted license (highly desirable).
  • Forklift license is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
  • Computer skills.
  • Strong administrative and planning skills.
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Positive can-do attitude.
