Expert Compliance Leader Sought to Bolster Risk and Compliance Capabilities

We are seeking a seasoned professional to join our risk management team. This role can be based anywhere in Australia, with a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Our Vision for Risk Management:

At our organization, we're focused on building a future-ready ecosystem where our colleagues feel supported to step up and speak up.

In a world of constant change, risk management is more than frameworks – it provides the confidence, clarity, and control to act decisively, and do the right thing.

With strong foundations in place, we're looking to grow capability, lift capacity, and create a culture that empowers our colleagues to make better decisions every day.

About the Role:

As a key member of our risk management team, you will provide expert advice on regulatory requirements to ensure our organization operates in compliance with its policies, procedures, and regulatory obligations.

The Senior Manager will lead the development and enhancement of comprehensive incident and breach management frameworks, policies, and processes that enable the organization to effectively manage compliance risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Regulatory Breach Reporting and Compliance team in providing expert compliance advisory services and support on compliance incidents and breach reporting particularly in respect of superannuation, investments, financial advice, administration, insurance, privacy, and AML/CTF incidents.
  • Undertake compliance assessments of compliance incidents to support the regulatory breach assessment processes.
  • Presentation of compliance assessments to relevant stakeholders and forums as required.
  • Assist in the provision of compliance advice, insights, themes, trends to key stakeholders including boards, committees, and other forums in relation to incidents and breaches.
  • Preparation of reporting to regulators in respect of investigations, breaches, and responding to regulatory requests for information.
  • Lead the governance of relevant forums such as the Significant Incident Review Panel including preparation of supporting documentation, preparation of minutes, and reporting to relevant stakeholders.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Experienced compliance or legal professional with proven leadership exposure in regulatory compliance, incident, and breach management within the Australian financial services industry preferred.
  • Experience working in or providing services to a regulated financial services organization, with a strong understanding of regulatory obligations in particular superannuation, investments, administration, advice, and insurance broking, and the ability to interpret and apply associated legislative requirements.
  • Ability to rapidly analyze and communicate complex matters in a commercially sensible way.
  • Ability to provide strategic advice to senior stakeholders on compliance incidents.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of risk management systems, frameworks, and processes particularly in respect of incident and breach reporting.

Why Join Our Team:

  • We foster a vibrant and inclusive culture where you can work with talented colleagues to create new solutions and have impact for colleagues, clients, and communities.
  • Our scale enables us to provide a range of career opportunities, as well as benefits and rewards to enhance your well-being.
